Go for a walk.\u00a0\u00a0 Make sure you have 5 one dollar bills.<\/p>\n

I anoint you : Patron Saint of the Lonely.<\/p>\n

Your mission is to go relieve the loneliness of others.\u00a0\u00a0 If you see a homeless person, stop.\u00a0\u00a0 Give them a dollar and apologize that you can’t give more.\u00a0\u00a0 Ask if you can sit for a few minutes because you’re tired.<\/p>\n

Find out their story.\u00a0\u00a0 Where they come from.\u00a0\u00a0 Where they’re headed.\u00a0\u00a0 How they get through the day.<\/p>\n

If you see a street musician, stop.\u00a0\u00a0 Put a dollar in their tin and then sit for 15 minutes listening.\u00a0\u00a0 Thank them personally when you leave.<\/p>\n

Stop by a few coffee shops.\u00a0\u00a0 If you see an elderly person sitting alone, ask to join them.\u00a0\u00a0 Use the white lie that you are new in town and the person reminds you of your departed grandparent.\u00a0\u00a0 Ask them anything and they will usually open up.<\/p>\n

Funny, you were lonely a while back.\u00a0 Now you can’t really remember why.<\/p>\n
